​Thanks to National Geographic for Kids, I was able to help tell Lilly's heroic story.  The loving pitbull pulled her owner from the path of a speeding freight train, but lost her front leg in the process.

My book, that  feature twos other stories of animals saving people from certain disaster -- a pod of dolphins that saved a surfer from a great white shark, and gorillas that have saved children -- is ideal for readers 7 and up.  But watch for another great book for older readers about Lilly from her current owner David Lanteigne's sister, Lisa Lanteigne-Carroll ,
